You gotta save these bitches when they in imminent danger, and then find the lawn chair to watch them flounder in bad relationships, while casually tossing a pool noodle at them when they surface. Cause if they don't take it, you can't force them to, much as it fucking sucks.
Also, from experience, trying to force your opinion without proper context of the situation, both makes you an ass, and makes the sibling or other person not trust you to open up to. Which then means that they will throw the pool noodle back at you, while purposefully inhaling water, out of spite and not wanting to be judged for their bad judgment.
Point is, be a good and supportive older sibling, and know when you need to ask hard questions, and when it is best to shut ya mouth. Also, in situations with domestic abuse, it is far more complicated, I have helped many a sibling, parent, and others with these kinda things. Also lot of it is empathizing with their struggles, and asking questions that encourage them to think and come to conclusions about their relationships on their own.
Relationship, where every party gets what they actually want, but Kay got raped and baby trapped? The second relationship is actually healthy, because both parties know what the other wants and agreed to meet the terms of the other party. Like, I am actually happy that Schumans character wasn't sacrificed to make his side story, and it makes me feel like if that had actually been the main storyline and had been fleshed out, it could have been rather good.
Instead, we got a story where tons of corners were cut. How exactly did Zigril become the emperor? We don't actually know, because it happened off panel. What became of the town left behind? Idk.
Kays capabilities as a soldier/guard?, were completely undermined by how incredibly incapable he was of fighting. Note, that still may not have saved him from the rape, victims can go into shock during the rape, and no matter how capable a fighter they may have been, the shock could keep them frozen in place while they process. Also, the fact that during the delivery, Kay had not been crying til Zigril entered, is pretty fucking unrealistic.
Zigril is actually a fucking evil abuser. Like, there is nothing redeemable about him. He never cared about Kay, and is willing to manipulate Kay by threatening to kill multiple people, including, Kay, the baby, the ex, himself, and more. I am 100% convinced that Zigril can't love. Like literally. And because we get 0 backstory anywhere, we are left to speculate why he is the way he is, which makes him feel rather incomplete as a character.
The art was beautiful, until, at some point, Kay seemed to kinda randomly become more effeminate, I will reread to confirm this since it has been a while, but I think the art for him may have changed. Which, I hate when characters only get feminine after they are revealed as the bottom, or only during sex, because not every gay couple has one individual as an effeminate twink! Also, anatomy doesn't just randomly change during or after sex! If Kay had changed body shape after pregnancy, that would make sense, but that didn't happen either!
Basically, I don't recommend this series. The art is good, but the story is a mess, and consent only exists for Schuman and the random he is fucking, which is only the last 2 chapters of this whole series. Even the areas where there was some intrigue being built, fell apart with very little in the way of pay out or world building. Like, if they had only arrived there and gotten the flower, and then made there way back, I am convinced that Kay would still get raped with the intent to impregnate by Zigril, and that that would still be used to force Kay into a marriage, because none of the characters had any character building moments, outside of Kay being gaslit into believing that any of the rape he experienced, must have had some consent on his side, even though we the audience are shown that there was no consent given in the slightest.
0/10 do not recommend.
Well said
