I am sorry "innocent people?" Does she not know the mortia people were killed one sidedly it is it cuz she's a kid and anyone who is nice doesn't deserve to be cursed no matter what. Why make the mortis people a group that was killed out fear and not an actual villianous group, if this was going to be looked over. I am not saying the duke and his people should be cursed forever or stay that way, I would be happy if the curse was lifted, cuz he does feel regret and was forced to do kill innocent people, but the mortis were innocent too, even moreso actually, I find it weird they are being blamed cuz they were murdered for no real reason
