i alr explained this on ba to but whatever. riceball is the "localized" version. its korean name is 햅쌀 aka haepssal which means a type of newly harvested rice. that's why sometimes you'll see someone translating it as new rice. using new rice sounds not kinda weird so i just used the korean romanization
