Exactly, I’m with you! He may have “ulterior motives” for why he’s with the mother (to be close to/with Rosa since they knew each other as kids, and he wants a family, stability and security so his love for the mom may be more of that kind and not necessarily of fated mate kind) and he may have experience with all sorts of dirty, grubby, greedy, disgustingly rich and entitled people because of his old line of work, but he can still be naive and taken advantage of and not clock everything immediately, regardless how how much experience he has. He is a victim and he’s trying to survive by all means. This doesn’t necessarily mean he’s with the mom only for the money, he’s confusing his need for belonging and wanting and having a family with romantic love. He does love/care for her but he’s also willing to do anything to stay afloat and not be alone since he’s been alone, abandoned and used and taken advantage of all his love. I feel bad for him. Because from the looks of the cover art Rosa won’t be much easier and lovey dovey with him, having a sub/dom relationship, hitting him, humiliating him. Poor Yeonwoo. We can only hope that there be lots of aftercare and a clear distinction between play and real life so it’s not always him being dommed by Rosa, like in Arthur! In the beginning Silas only wanted BDSM play with Arthur but now they’re in a loving wholesome relationship with some spice.

And it’s not like we’re even saying Yeonwoo’s innocent, we don’t KNOW much about him yet. But in this specific situation, we have to read between the lines and it really wasn’t hard to guess that he was clearly forced into kissing that woman. And we were right!! It’s so disappointing to see people treat his situation different just because he’s a man. Regardless of the situation, he was the victim in this and hadn’t understood what Rosa meant when she mentioned the drugs. Maybe that is naive from his end, but that doesn’t justify slut shaming him and sexually harassing him. I’m so glad there’s still people like you who clearly understand the story.

It’s fine to theorize and try to guess what will happen but to condemn smth so fast and not being able or willing to discuss calmly and respect other people’s tastes and opinions is harmful for fiction, everyone has different tastes and biases. Some people romanticize and idolize Sangwoo from Killing Stalking, Zhenya from Codename Anastasia, Caesar from Roses & Champagne. They’re essential characters for the other characters and the story so I don’t despise them and hate read just for the sake of it but then there are people that hate read other stories that other people actually like and they bully them, for example TJ stans attacking Jo/Ian stans from Wet Sand or JJK from Jinx. I’m just so sick of it. Just read the damn story and respect the ones that do enjoy the story and the characters, if you can’t handle it then don’t read it it’s as simple as that! I really don’t get the people slut shaming Yeonwoo, calling him a manwhore, like …. ? A manwhore is someone who is willingly sleeping around, who is naturally a playboy/fuckboy because they like sex and one night stands. Yeonwoo being a former prostitute/escort/gigolo/wtv is not the same, at all. He did that as work because he had to, for some reason, that’s the only option he had. And like I previously said, that line of work taught and showed him a lot of ugly disgusting things so he’s not completely oblivious, inexperienced or stupid. But people don’t take into account that he’s not in that “industry” anymore so there was no reason for him to constantly be on guard/watch/edge and be defensive and suspicious. He’s had a rough upbringing and adulthood so yeah, he would and maybe still is like that BUT ALSO he decided to trust his partner, the woman he loves and lives with. There are so many nuances and layers! He can be suspicious, not able to relax, on guard/watch/edge, not completely feel welcome yet or comfortable at that mansion and with the family and ALSO do feel safe, free, etc. You know?

Honestly, I’ve started to check the comment section for differenr manhwas on MGG less and less, it started with Wet Sand, the comments for that manhwa were so bad and the exact same shit every single week it made me not want to read WS for several months! Then I read a chapter last week on Bato and the comments are sm better! You can clearly tell the difference of age and maturity from the different sites. The majority of the antis (that are just anti anything) are like braindead sheep that follow the rest of the herd. One person says something, it goes “viral”, and the rest take it and run with it until the end of the story. Like all the people calling JJK horse (because they say he looks like the horse from Spirited Away). It was funny the first 1-2 times but it’s so lame and redundant now, enough! So yeah, those people are the clout chasing, endlessly scrolling, chronically online brainrot people while others are actual readers that enjoy all aspects of a story and simply stop reading and don’t bully (or even bother to comment) the other readers that are still reading and/or enjoying it. The reason why I prefer MGG firsthand is because the uploads are a lot quicker, you get it within 1-3 days of official release while Bato is much slower and takes up to 7-14 days but the comments are so much better and funnier because you can add pictures too!

No, you’re completely right!! I actually have never even heard of that other site, but to know that at least SOME people in the fandom understand this plot line and the depth of Yeonwoo as a character, makes me happy. AND OMGGG WET SAND.. Don’t even get me started on that fandom, I was ostracized for saying I’m team Jo, DESPITE me saying I still like TJ too. It’s the fact that people here jump straight to insults, that’s how I know at that point, you’re not grown and you’re a child looking for a fight which, quite frankly, I won’t give unless you’re mature enough to leave insults out of an argument.
Also you’re so right. I feel like this fandom thinks that just because Yeonwoo worked in the sex industry, it automatically makes him aware of every single suspicious thing around him. At the end of the day, we still don’t know the extent of what his past job made him do, he had to do it to pay his adoptive family’s debt off, and he simply had to make a living for himself and if that was the only way he was making ends meet, then that was the only way. Calling him a MANwhore, a slut, any derogatory terms like that is INSANE, but if the roles were reversed and a woman was in the same position Yeonwoo was, these comments would be a lot different. Not to mention, I feel like people aren’t blaming Rosa’s mom enough. Despite him being an adult, grooming can still occur and based on how he acts, it’s not something so far fetched to believe. As well as she knew what the possibility would be when bringing him to the party and her DAUGHTER had to be the one to explain the origins of it (granted, Rosa didn’t explain if very well, but I digress).
Regardless, whether he turns out to be some insane man later on, I’m so glad that people like you are in the fandom, where you look at the bigger picture than what’s simply presented to us in 2 panels. <33 Genuinely have a lot of respect for you.
