Whenever I read other manhwa, the emperor husband is always busy with paperwork 24/7 sacrificing food and sleep over proper work life balance and giving the FL attention (until they get repossessed).
After reading this manhwa, now I know why.
I like how on the dummy chapter it literally explains why there are dummy chapters and where to read the real chapters, yet there are people who still don’t know why there are dummy chapters and where to read the real chapters.
There are also apparently some people who are okay with aggregate websites using bots to snipe scanlations so they can profit off the original author and fan translators who are working for free because ‘we’re all doing illegal stuff anyway’.
Reading this manga on the scanlator’s preferred website is a minor inconvenience.
I think there is no right or wrong way to navigate this situation. Some people would prefer to have the right to out themselves, some people would prefer not to be kept in the dark. Chae Heon and Jeongyoon’s sister decided the best thing for him is to keep him in the dark. Partly because they’re overprotective of him. Partly because they want to give him that right.
I think what Chae Heon said about not wanting Jeongyoon to be uncomfortable about inviting him over, sums up their decision. It’s inevitable that Jeongyoon’s relationship with his family will shift if they bring it up, whether or not they support him. Maybe one day Chae Heon and Jeongyoon will break up, and he might meet with other guys in the future. I think Jeongyoon’s family doesn’t want him to be conscious of them over things like that, so they want to wait until he’s ready to tell them. After all, he is only moving in with a friend, on the surface. And in the event of a breakup, he could comfortably return to his family knowing they won’t ask him questions. Even if Jeongyoon’s family are comfortable about his sexuality, it doesn’t mean Jeongyoon is comfortable about them knowing. I think it’s important to Jeongyoon’s family that he’s comfortable around them in his own home.
And to be honest, I think if you’re close enough as family, you would know what your sibling would want. Knowing Jeongyoon’s character, when he finds out later about them knowing all along, he would probably beat himself up for not realising it sooner than he would get mad at Chae Heon and his family.
Okay before everyone gets excited this is a friendly reminder that the characters that are coming next chapter are the club president and Minjeong, NOT Taegyeom. There is no cameo from the main characters (at least for now).
The former club president is the one who convinced Taegyeom to join the club to attract more members. Minjeong is the woman who let Dohyun leave his shift during the university festival, because she noticed he couldn’t concentrate (he was worried about the student he was tutoring that day).
Anyone know another manhwa with a ML similar to Joseph?
But to summarise:
1. Kaido started accepting acting/modelling jobs because there were less suit action jobs available. He’s doing a project with his acting coworker Matsubara, who secretly doesn’t like Kaido since he wasn’t serious about the job/didn’t appear to be into it.
2. As part of the project, the client wanted to film Kaido and Matsubara’s daily lives for a week and then at their actual homes on the last day, which Kaido obviously refused. His manager (Ito), Matsubara, and his senpais had problems with Kaido complaining about his job offers.
3. Kaido’s senpais pulled a prank on him where they had the photographer take a photo of Kaido and Honda together. It is unclear what they said, but Ito and the photographer thought that Kaido knew about the plan. By the way, the senpais told the magazine that Kaido was gay, but the article just said they were friends.
4. Kaido started getting bullied at work for being gay, and his senpais “accidentally” pushed Kaido off a high place, causing injuries. Matsubara was the first to run to his rescue. Honda broke up with Kaido since he thought he was the reason Kaido was unhappy (after seeing the photo and his injuries).
5. Matsubara told Kaido to stop arguing with his senpais since it affected him and the other employees. He didn’t know the photo was a prank until later, and apologised for it. He saved Kaido after he fainted, then visited his (and Honda’s) apartment, explained his side, and the two became friends.
6. By the way, Matsubara used to be a student at Honda’s university where he had a crush on Honda’s friend Mikawa. His classmates found out Matsubara was gay right before he dropped out to become an actor. Because he sacrificed his personal feelings to become an actor, he was jealous of Kaido and took it out on him.
7. Matsubara explained the prank to the other employees, and everyone felt bad and apologised to Kaido. Ito didn’t realise the severity of the situation until Kaido fainted, dug deeper into the photograph incident and realised that it was done without his permission. The magazine issued an apology, and the senpais got their punishment.
The uke thought he was being bullied for years. The seme genuinely thought they were close childhood friends. Still the seme acknowledged that he was the reason the uke hid his hobbies and apologised for it (since he read out loud the manga the uke was holding). He also apologised for teasing him in the past, as he didn’t know how to express that he liked the uke.
The point is that although the seme teased the uke in the past, it was only during preschool/elementary. And while that’s still bad, it’s also very normal kid behaviour. In middle school, he realised his actions were hurting the uke, but as he had already unintentionally bullied the uke for years, they developed a misunderstanding. For example, when the seme was relying on his childhood friend by borrowing his textbook, the uke thought he was being forced/threatened. So while the seme was following the uke around trying to get closer to him, the uke thought he was being tormented, only to realise that the seme had never actually made fun of his hobbies.
