I'm on and off Dune too! I started a while ago but the begining is tough to get through so good luck with it! So yeah still not halfway through the first book even though I think it's not gonna be worth it at the end x)

i'm on the last third and i'm loving it tbh. the beginning is tough bc they keep introducing new groups and characters but my book has a glossary at the end which has been helping a lot lol
i was half joking earlier but anyways I read kingdom of this world by Alejo carpentier a few days ago. Idk it was cool but I found the prose a bit difficult to understand, maybe cuz I read an English translation of it. The ending was kinda bs in my opinion tho

No it wasn’t that much bs. It makes sense but it kinda feels tacked on at the end just to give the story some positivity imo. Also I figured it’s worth mentioning, but I read it for part of my literature class and we analyzed its structure a lot. Honestly if it wasn’t for my literature class’s analysis of it I don’t think I would have enjoyed it nearly as much as I did so idk if you could enjoy it in just a regular reading of it.
I’m not currently reading anything, but some of my faves I’ve read in the past:
A separate peace Let the right one in Night Road (AM Jenkins) A Tale of two cities Burning Bright (Tracy Chevalier) Vampirates series Watch series (Sergei Litovchenko) Tamsin The girl on Evangeline beach I do (Elizabeth Chandler) The vampire chronicles (I only read the first 5 books) The Darkangel Trilogy (Meredith Ann Pierce) Shattered Mirror & All Just Glass Boogiepop Series
In my queue: The case files of jeweler Richard In Memoriam (Alice Winn)

it's crazy how many books start out as fanfics nowadays (not in a bad way)

Rereading Healer novel.
It’s soooo good. If you’re into heavy smut and dark romance then you’ll love it!
