It’s been two years…. So what happened next?

I really enjoyed this story. It was well-paced, never felt too long or dragged, and I liked both the female and male leads. However, there were two aspects I had issues with.

First, I wish the crown prince had received a harsher death. He disgusted me, and he felt more like a comedic villain compared to Eleanor, which lessened his impact.

Second, the author never properly explained the male lead’s backstory. The concubine was left vague, who was she, and what did she do that caused the empress to fall? Additionally, if the male lead’s parents were portrayed as admirable, why did his father have multiple wives and strip his “beloved” wife of her title?

Despite these issues, I really enjoyed the story, and it’s exactly the kind of villainess narrative I love. I absolutely adored the female lead and the male lead. They were strong, yet allowed moments of vulnerability, and during those weaker moments, they supported each other beautifully.
