I’m not sure if anyone read it but for the bird people the king has literally no rights to freedom besides the freedom to love anyone they want. Which means he had the right to take a wife at any time, thats not cheating that just their culture. The bird people themselves don’t seem to be monogamous and do it with whoever they want.
