The gangster guy (forget his name) was raped by their dad. He’s projecting, and it’s why he’s laughing that MC is on the receiving end and why he always talks bad about their dad + he thinks MC looks most like their dad. Doesn’t change what he did and he does get arrested, but god do I hate their father. He took some kid off the street, made him feel important, took advantage of him, then after he died he lets him find out through his will that he’s not even included as family. Even though he led everyone to believe he had “adopted” him. That’s why he’s so desperate to get into the safe. It wasn’t even about money, it was about getting his hands on the evidence and awful pictures the dad took of him.

I was wondering why he treated the brothers like that, I thought it was just jealousy. So when I found out, I was so angry he couldn’t get revenge on the father. He literally met him when he was dressed in his school uniform! Hate that he won’t get justice. It also looked like he wasn’t the first boy either.

Authors need this much of an age gap. It plot could’ve been the same even if they were closer in age…

But he wasn’t hiding him ? he just took him in. If they were closer in age he still could’ve looked after MC. They also would’ve let them stay together since he was the only guide compatible to him. It would’ve taken out the aspect of him being a groomer and made him a childhood savior/ friend instead.

This dude went and took a child and kept him, with the usual government response suppose to put them into a foster center for other children who are alone due to gates. If the groomer wasn't an adult he wouldn't have the ability to ensure the mc gets stuck at the esper center and raised in his own private home. MC would have been stuck as a personal guide yes,but probably raised beyond the groomer's personal toy and he'll probably would have gotten more than 3 outfits or an actual socialized education by the time it matches the story. A powerful child esper would have less influence than the adult version, like other espers, guides, and staff of the area never mentions how werid he was raised there and never leaves. Hell the non groomer brother would have known the existence of mc cause the groomer brother wouldn't have been able to influence the executives to him mc that well at age 15, they would have to share from an early age especially as one of them needs guidance way more.
In the end it would have been a childhood friend story where the mc would have more freedom since his legal guardian would have been some executive that wasn't the brothers, or at the next option he would be become a ward of their parents and he's stuck under the same roof and still shared between them.

I get your point but the plot is the way it is because of the age gap. There would've been no power dynamics that kept the groomer brother in control of the mc at all times, and there woudlve been no emotional manipulation of the mc, etc. I mean if they were the same age it would've been just the "groomer" brother bring a obsessed clean freak but that woudkve made the mc actions naive and dumb. Not the consequences of him being sheltered and groomed by the groomer brothwr

I’m actually crying over their backstory. I don’t know how someone can have all those visions, and not be completely consumed with despair and anger. I wouldn’t blame any of them for their hatred. They have been wronged and abused since the beginning, and they are STILL ostracized from society and treated poorly. This has been a beautiful and painful story since the start, I hope they can have their happy ending and all the Kanagi (?) can also live on peacefully, INCLUDING MIKA!
I know we knew the island was behind the rest of the world, but the last few chapters really reminded me of AOT when we find out what was in the basement. Like all the shock, anger and frustration I got from learning about the truth and the past
So happy this is getting another season!
