The intent in say painter of the night is to romanticize the idea that Nakyum secretly likes to be taken roughly and thinks that dude is hot and wants it. but the intent of the author here is to show that Edd is feeling destroyed by his life, he has stooped to selling himself and hating himself for it, and despite everything he has always trusted Chang on some level because they grew up together. He felt that Chang was someone important to him, and here is the last person on earth he wants taking him against his will and destroying his last sense of self worth. The author intends for this scene to be upsetting and not sexy. So any of you who claim we're being hypocrites are in a sense right, but also no. This is too realistic to be sexy.
