As for Chapter 40

One thing that got me so curious was when SH painted a red dot on NK's forehead.

It's called 'bindi' that originated from India. It may refer to intellect, being a married woman or it may also symbolize 'love'.

Gaaaaah! I can't! It may be a subtle way for SH to express his feelings but it speaks volumes! Actions speak louder than words, right?! ヾ(☆▽☆)

Korean brides also wear a red dot on her forehead and her cheeks. They are called yeonji gonji and are associated with her being married. They are done to protect the bride from evil spirits.

Yoon likely thought it was funny to make the Painter look like his bride

I think SH did the red dot on NY head is not to tease him(based on their conversation). It's more like spontaneous and also hinting NY wishful thinking that the learned sir would ever consider taking him as his "bride" after he succeed in passing the exam. I could be wrong though. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

What if on Chapter 32 NK will accidentally set SH's hair free while they are going at it?

Well, it's just my over active imagination.. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
