you guys are complaining about the wrong things here tbh. the ml's attitude in the first few chapters is something only there because he essentially lost everything in his life and was lashing out. after those chapters, it kind of really disappears, except.... it does not!?
what you guys should be taking, i personally think, from their relationship is the underlying classism. paula was seen as disposable by almost everyone in the story, even the "good" characters, and even the ml. she only survived because they felt that she had proved herself to not deserve death. if she hadn't been so stubborn, they definitely would have killed her off, "friend" or not. paula's existence has never really been hers, she's always been stuck taking care of people, whether they deserve it or not, and her views of herself reflect that through her self-esteem. she sees herself as less, and the other characters perpetuate that.
even violet, dare i say, asks her to not fall in love with the ml, and i think this could be taken multiple ways. the way i took it, couple with what was said about them only telling her secrets because she was dispensible, was that violet felt comfortable enough to tell her that, but also knew that the pain that would come from that love (coupled with the fact most of them knew previous ml maids had died when they were deemed useless) would sting a lot more because she died for being by the mls side.
none of the character's really did anything to warn her of her fate until she was spared, on a fluke at that. even lucas, the one who "really liked" her did not warn her of her fate. i wish i could say that he and the other characters did not know what happened to the ml's previous maids, but the fact is, they'd have to be pretty dumb not to. she is still seen as disposable by everyone in her life.
i wish i could say i wished for her and ml to be happy together, but my poor girl deserves people around her who actually value her being, without looking at their positions. the ml really hasn't done anything to show he sees her something worth keeping, especially since we know EXACTLY how the other nobles + servant managers saw her. he literally hesitated before saying it was temporary and again.
i do think that the ml can change, he seemed the most oblivious to her to-be-fate of the nobles. ******SPOILER(???)***** I'm pretty sure he actually was looking for her too. the author really set this up well. all the characters are so complex, i can't fully hate any of them, though i feel some level of resentment towards everyone but paula and less so for the ml.
let me know what you guys think! like comment share!
guys, just a reminder that we're not even at 20 chapters yet. Masterpieces aren't created in a day.
omfg, y'all really don't know how to read do you? the relationship between mother and daughter is progressing more than anything romantic, dare i say. she just regained her memory of him and had a mental breakdown with ian. meanwhile, she realized her daughter is putting herself in danger and is trying to save her from learning too much- she's putting distance between them for a reason (FOCUS of the last 3 chapters btw) if you guys want just super baddie strong perfect mary sues go read another story. this one clearly isn't for you. and you know damn well she would ALWAYS put the daughter first,-she's not invincible though. reading comprehension is dead, dear god..
They tag teaming this green-eyed bitch LMFAO his ass looked so happy to see June too, brochacho it's time to gochacho.
it's so odd making an adopted kid have a crush on his parent once he grows up, all the implications are still there that wolf raised him in the adult universe
