shirotani created a topic of Sleeping Dead

I keep rereading this one and I keep forgetting to leave a comment (maybe because it always leaves me sobbing).

Now with spoilers ahead:

I think what I love about this manga is that even thought it is a work about bringing someone back from the dead, it still feels real. Their emotions feel real. I can understand someone wanting an ending that is a bit more dramatic but to me it felt right.

Mamiya loved Sada, even though it took him a while to understand and admit it, he truly loved him in his own twisted way. He wanted to 'destroy' the rest world so Sada could live freely and wouldn't have to hide anymore. That became his only objective. And once he didn't have Sada with him anymore, there was no point to continue with the research he spent most of his life on.
For me, this part was the most heartbreaking one. Sada spent his last moments asking him to take care of himself, to talk to his family, to go make friends, to not drink too much, and then Mamiya couldn't do any of that

Mamiya is a horrible person yes lol but I think the story did a good job at showing WHY he is the way he is (it doesn't justify the things he did, but explains it), and Sada understood him too.

I hope this rant makes sense lol I've been thinking about this manga for weeks now, and I'll keep thinking about it for a long time. I love it a lot.
