I know this is going to be a hot take, but I can't blame the Fl and Ml at all. Like seriously your a married couple and the emperor has been openly trying to steal your wife. I wouldn't what to do either. It got to the point where the emperor drugged the female lead. It made so much sense to take a break and get things sorted out because how can you handle a problem like that.
