Read this a while back so not 100% sure but Hazel made a contract with a demon. Using part of her life span I think she tried putting a curse or something on the empress. It was supposed to kill the empress, however, the empress was wearing that necklace thag tbe emperor gave her and that necklace helps protect the wearer from harm. So empress coughed up blood due tk the curse but did nkt die and Hazel coughed up blood because the curse did not work and so there was some sort of penalty.
Those last two chapters seemed a bit rushed and muddled. The quest for the Fountain of Eternal Youth was just forgotten in favour of all this baby talk. So we can just assume they found the fountain since it’s ended with a happily ever after? Just seems like a loose thread to me :/

Having just read all the available chapters, no, I wouldn’t call this grooming. ML is somewhat childlike in some of his behaviours but he is also obviously intelligent and has “adult” interests of his own. He’s more abused and starved of affection rather than it being “mind of a child” situation. That’s my take on it at least

The timeline is so all over the place - if I have to go back and reread things to try and cement the order of what’s happening in my mind then you’re doing a bad writing job :/
Back when I was a kid, jp manga always did this thing where they colored the outside of all panels in black if it's a flashback so there were no confusion. Wish that is more common though I get different artists want to make different artistic choices.

ML starts off with the emotional capacity of an 8 year old boy pulling the hair of the girl he likes. I didn’t really understand why MC loves him or went back to him but she does. I don’t feel like I wasted my time but I’d also never bother re-reading it. Worth your time if you like your MLs on the crazier side of obsessive.
