This is me revisiting my theory of Guwon being an experiment/not human. Back in like chapter 5 I had posted a comment on this exact thing because Gueon always gave me a sense of disconnect, it’s like he knows what morals are but doesn’t really understand them yet still tries to apply them.
Back in chapter 1 you can see it’s like he rose from the earth and it was so weird, there is no way the author added that in just for a cool entrance, it’s def hinted. I have to wander what his motive for making a town is though, he clearly hasn’t interacted with other people a whole lot before, so why would such a strong guy decide to get people together to create a town? He doesn’t really understand them so why should he care? My theory is that he is trying to get a sense of normalcy from the things he does know about humans and try to experience it himself since he couldn’t do so BEFORE the apocalypse

The reason the main story was so rushed is because the writer died when this was still in the beginning of the story. I was really surprised to see that this updated after so long, I hope the side stories go on for a long time since there was a lot of potential to this story.

I just woke up and English isn’t my first language so sorry for any mistakes. Be warned this is LONG AF.
To start from the basics, Pi Bada seems to have been playing this game for a really long time, to the point that his memories has been compromised. Cassette tapes are the way to “save” progress in this story, kind of like the writing machines on Resident Evil, if you don’t put in your cassette tape on a machine you’ll loose your memories, like the himbo (I can’t remember for the life of me what his name was, my bad but I’m pretty sure he had bluish hair or blue something) who briefly got his “consciousness” and memory back for a bit once the cassette tape on the car got stuck, but he couldn’t remember everything fully because it got stuck in it so his memories were murky. When Doha and Pi Bada figured out HOW he was getting his memories back Doha made sure that his cassette tape doesn’t enter the player. That whole thing was used as a way to (in my opionion at least) show us that every character has their own cassette, which could mean they are ALL players and some of them just don’t remember.
Season one ended a while ago so I’m not entirely sure but from what I remember Seongchan used to also have his memories, then Doha found out I’m just not sure Pi Bada knew about it (I’ll go back and look for it when I finish) which is why Doha is hunting him down now. I don’t remember any instance of Seongchan’s cassette being shown but, again, been a long time since season 1 ended. Doha seems to want to sabotage Pi Bada and purposely keeps new information from him, which I can only interpret as he being insecure Pi Bada won’t want to be him anymore or won’t even remember him when the game ends so.
As for recently, it seems that Pi Bada’s memory has gone bad over time or his cassette tape has been tampered with, since he doesn’t remember he used to have an alliance with Seongchan and this guy which has now been revealed the cassette tape with all the smiling faces that Pi Bada has belongs to him. I’m not sure why he doesn’t go up to Pi Bada and talk to him but oh well.
If there’s anything that is still confusing, just reply to this and I’ll do my best to explain. I’m sorry if this isn’t coherent enough
The backstory really makes me debate the current state of things. Before I felt a little scandalized that mc would just let ml suffer without guiding because he wanted to put himself first, since my first instinct will always be to help others no matter what. But then I started thinking of the true nature of this forced career and mc has lived his entire life not knowing freedom as well as serving others, so know I'm torn ╥﹏╥.
I want mc to achieve his dream of retiring peacefully and enjoying his freedom with the ml so bad, I can't imagine how hard it must be for your free will to be stripped away like that.
