I feel kind of torn. On one hand I find the plot really interesting and the art is very pretty. The incest that's apparently not really incest (according to the comments) actually doesn't bug me. My real hesitation with this one is the FL. Am I the only one who's nerves she is getting on? She is so whinny, needy, and ready to cry at a single word. I get that she has lived her life locked away and unable to learn social norms and common knowledge. And yes the stuff with her first husband is awful, no mater the truth about his death.... but still. She never tries to do or fix anything, maybe tries to run from the problem, gets upset, and expects others to fix it. I really hope to see some growth from her....
I see what you mean, i mean just now we saw her selfishly ask john “Is it bcuz you have too much to lose?” Like uHM girl how bout maybe yes??? She just kinda expected him to give his whole “successful” (?) future up like its nothing???? Idk rn she seems pretty self entitled though ig that is fair since she had so many restrictions put on her, her whole life.
Well, it's difficult to expect something from her, the way she's been brought up was the one who's holding her back. Atleast she had the guts to ask her brother to run away. She tried tho it was selfish, she was willing to runaway. Remember no matter how difficult her life gets, she didnt want to die. She was afraid to die. All she have is the demon her family was clinging on to and she used that for herself, to avoid the marriage, it was the first move she did to save herself but she didnt know that her brother would be affected. Still that's the only thing she can do now if she do not want to die, it's to wish. However she revoked her wish because she doesnt want to harm her brother, she is selfish and also selfless. She's still desperate to live that's why she cannot easily make a move.
She's realistically acting like a sheltered brat. For someone like her who thought cooked food came from trees and was brought up in a misogynistic environment, this is as expected. She did not even receive any sort of education.
Yeah I get that, and I think that it was fine for her to start out that way. All I'm saying is that if she does not start growing as the story continues to progress and she moves further out of her sheltered room than, it is going to be really frustrating. Education is one thing but, the will to work your way out of a desperate situation is another. And right now through her full reliance on others and willingness to give up and blame others, especially when they fall short of the expectations she put on them, is starting to repeat itself too often to not make her a bit frustraiting.
I get your frustration, though I would on some level compare her to Sansa from GoT. It wasn’t until real tragedy hit Sansa that she started to grow, and I think that’s what Giselle is going to go through as well when she realizes John really IS the devil. Because yeah, she’s sheltered, uneducated even for a noble lady (though not by much, it was rare that women got a proper education beyond etiquette), and John. Here’s two potential outcomes for the story... 1) She realizes John is the devil, freaks out and then decides she still loves him, so goes to great efforts to keep him safe. Or 2) Same thing, except she decides that she needs to get away from John and so grows through the hardships she goes through while trying to stay away from John...
Personally I’d prefer the former to the latter
I really love this series and have already subbed and re-read the chapters on Webtoons. I really appreciate that the scanners here are going to be dropping it in order to respect the original creator who now has it licenced on a platform. I'm a little confused. Is this latest chapter supposed to be chapter 15, like it is labled on the site? It seems like it is however, on the first page it says chapter 17. Is this a miss translation or error in cleaning? The story flows for 14 to this latest one correctly so I think it truly is chapter 15. But I am always down for knowing there are more juicy chapters out there to read (⌒▽⌒)

The base concept is the same as a lot of other stories but I really like this ML and FL. The ML does not ignore her but fully accepts her into the family both at home and at school. He seems to be a solid and interesting character. The FL is not dumb both in terms of him, situations, and in her ideals of love. She reacts in interesting ways that are not over dramatic and are pretty realistic. I am looking forward to reading more ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~
This comic is now on Webtoons. It is called His Majesty's Proposal. And even though it is quite a few chapters behind I highly encourage people to go read it there to support the original creator (it is free). I do greatly appreciate the people who scanned it here for introducing me to it though!
