I think the reason I can’t get on board with a lot of the mature straight romance stories is because of how the FL’s are portrayed. In the few stories I’ve read, the FL is typically air headed when it comes to anything sexual and is uncomfortably naive/ taken advantage of by the ML. The ML typically has most of the experience and the FL is a damsel in distress, typically a virgin, who is VERY male centered. They typically have no back bone, brain, or purpose outside of the ML and it really bothers me…Also the sex/relationship always seems one sided. For the most part the sex scenes look like the ML is using the FL’s body for HIS pleasure, and it’s not mutual. This is why I lean towards femdom. The women are stern, independent, and aren’t dictated by a man, and even when the woman isn’t a full fledged sadist, the relationship is more balanced. Does anyone else feel this way?
Just finished Radio Station and I have been left speechless. It’s rare that a story makes me feel something, let alone Yaoi since 85% of it is smut. I’m in dire need of similar stories, not necessarily with the same apocalyptic feel, but stories that are more than just sex. I want something that focuses on the MC/ML relationship but also prioritizes their importance/purpose beyond each other- in terms of story building… If that makes sense…? I want to be taken on an adventure. Please help a girl out
