I've been thinking about this since I first started reading this but I'd be pissed if someone took away my scars without asking me. It's like he erased the proof of everything she survived without her approval. I'm personally proud of my scars because they prove that I made it through the hard shit.
Same, I never got over that. She survived all that suffering and he just washed away the evidence like he was doing her a favour. Go fuck yourself. So arrogant he didn’t even think to ask how she felt about them or let her make a decision for herself.

I agree! It makes it so much easier for him to just pretend that nothing happened. She SURVIVED a terrible life that he was DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR.
