A couple from these last two chapters as example:
Some things are just wrong. Example: when filling out the form in ch 17 for "a small miracle", the MC marks No instead of Yes (which it should be) for the drugs/curses question.

How Small/Tiny Miracle Seo introduces himself is awkward in this Whale translation. The Small Miracle part should be part of his full name ("I'm 'A Small Miracle' Seo Mingin" vs "I'm Tiny Miracle")

The system window MC pops up in ch 18 in this translation doesnt really convey the glitches/blocked information he's seeing appropriately

That's on top of the formatting and editing not being as clean.

That's just off the top of my head. It just seems like this translator doesn't have as good a grasp on English in some places and overall it doesn't seem like they're appropriately familiar with the story

I see how this translation cloud be of less quality than the other one, thanks for providong examples! I still think the original poster exagerated when calling the translation shit though, it must have taken a lot of time and effort

As long as it gets the general meaning across I'm ok with it. If they call this shit I don't know how they even read the really shitty ones. Lol

Or that the expectations are way too high now, esp. for scan groups. I'm not saying scans lation qualities are necessarily bad, but you should see some horrendous ones, where syntax and misspellings every other sentence.

At least for others, I think its more that there was already a group doing extremely good scanlations for this story. Having mid to shitty translations when there's nothing else is one thing, but when it's in comparison to another good one that makes it easier to shit on the translation

No. I get that. For whatever reason whomever didn't load it on here. But Anyways, that's besides the point. If the other translation was that bad then it's cause for complaint. It's not even bad and I'm the "grammar police". Basically if I'm not complaining and I'm pretty picky with my reads, I can still comprehend even the worse ones. So in comparison, calling this shit is way way over the top. Ofc it's good ppl pointed it out that there is a better translation elsewhere so we're aware. But calling this shit translation is over the top. For whatever reason manhwas and manhuas I e seem sometimes have been scanlated by other groups as well. There's no proprietary as to whom can scanlate. But it seems like it's whomever loads it first. I know courtesy wise you don't want to take up the slot someone else has claimed. Or if better works is to be found. My point being is that it's not that bad to the point ppl should be complaining. Idk if it's new gen or what but everything's got to be so dramatic.
