as a bonafide lover of toxic yaoi and manhwa this is done very tastefully. i love how you know this is a trainwreck waiting to happen, how both of them are deranged (one more than the other) and how great the characterization is. most people who dont like the characters are more often than not projecting their OWN morals onto the MC which does not play out well as a reader. his character is very much so consistent— you just need to pay attention to how much of an unreliable narrator he is in contrast to how his actions reflect his thoughts.
this story is not supposed to be romantic; that’s the point, if you paid more fucking attention lol
