I don't understand why he cares for Shin yooseung this much and over gilyoung?? Like you just met her , why does he have such a strong bond with her

The thing is that Kim Dokja represents the reader in all of us, and now the reader is given the opportunity to touch and to alter the fate of an innocent character who was bound to be hurt beyond recognition and change for the worse. He may have simply taken a liking to her as she is just a child, and may be projecting the hurt and suffering he has himself suffered in the younger years of his life. From my understanding of Kim Dokja, he is a compassionate person and wishes to save everyone if possible. Also, the fact that those little kids are bound to be extremely powerful plays in his favour.
But I could be wrong

and also, aint shin yoosung bound to be stronger when she grows older?
she even became one of the disasters with how strong she is as an adult~
where as gilyoung, it is an advantage to have him when there are insect monster, however shin yoosung's ability is not just to control a monster, but she also has other abilities when she become an adult~
but i agree that it is dokja's attachment with yoosungs lifestory that he chose her~ her skills are add-ons, he desperately wants to protect yoosung, even her adult 'disaster' spirit became a dokaebi that dokja raised`
You guys just want the story to progress faster which sucks because it is one of the few stories which actually portray somewhat realistic views on life . It's still a typical story don't get me wrong but think people if it weren't for the Mincheol arc what would make this story any different than others. Which is just knight in shining armour coming to save his abused princess
You’re actually not wrong, i kept thinking the story’s progression was too slow and the pacing was ass but since the author is putting so much emphasis on the background story and the character’s emotions that just means everything will come crashing down all together. So ig its worth the wait.
Exactly!! Like the slow burn sucks but it's gonna be all the more worth it in the end
