Since the emperor wants to join the hunt Perez lends him the armour (with red cape) from the last chapter - meanwhile Astana is off being his usual dick self and of course becomes victim to Perez’s schemes and starts to hallucinate in the forest and when he runs into the guy in armour with red cape decides to kill his crown prince competition not realising it’s his father. Of course chaos ensues and Astana loses an arm before being thrown in jail.
The empress of course tries to get him out of trouble and shift the blame which fails so next best thing while the emperor is weak and recovering she tries to kill him in order to get the power to assign the crown prince which would fall to her if he died. Again failure so of course she is thrown in jail and left to rot. As as aside to this Astana turns on his mother and testified against her to get some better conditions for himself in jail - LoL
With only one crown prince option left and his health not recovering as much as he’d like there is nothing for the emperor to do but give the crown prince role to his remaining son and once Perez’s position is confirmed he kills the emperor with the typical “you killed my mother I kill you” type revenge - Tia sees/knows and covers for him
