Does anyone know when or if this is getting an anime? I’ve been reading this for a good couple years now and it definitely deserves an anime, especially since manga like Sakamoto days, csm, mashle, and dandadan have recently gotten anime’s ╥﹏╥

This is getting animated, right..? I discovered this manga around a year ago and to this day it’s still my all time favourite; and somewhere along the line I heard it was getting an anime this year sometime next month, but I havent been hearing anything about it for a while ╥﹏╥
The anime is airing in the Fall season (Oct 8)! It’s going to be 2 cours long, so approx 24 episodes. The twitter account for more info (like VAs) on the anime is @yohaji_anime and for the mangaka it’s @tanamai78, and for the series in general it’s @yohaji_official.
If you don’t have a twitter account, the official site for the anime is youkaigakkou.com. The (unofficial) translator for the series also often posts about updates on her tumblr account which you can seen in the chapter credits.

I would love to keep reading this, but I’m 20 chapters in and the only thing thats happened is female characters interacting with him. Like, four chapters in and two female characters were already introduced, the heroine comes off as arrogant jst bc she read the novel (mc legit been playing for 10 years idk why she thinks shes better than him or that he’s ruining her experience??), theres pov’s of the girls which is just screaming harem, theres a typical “misunderstood villainess”, a “fake heroine” whos obssesed with the mc (creepy asf.), then miss “I read a book a bunch of times, I’m so different and not like other girls”. Like, why? The plot so far is basically just “I’m pretending to be smart, but I’m actually just using my glasses as a cheat while getting to know a bunch of woman I said I would try to stay away from but just cant say no!”. ALSO IN THE FIRST CHAPTER THEY SAID THE GAME WAS TARGETED TO FEMALE AUDIENCE. WHY ARE THERE SO MANY FEMALE CHARACTERS THEN??? AND WHERE ARE THE MALE CHARACTERS??? THE ONLY MALE CHARACTER OTHER THAN MC IS THE GENIUS FUTURE TYRANT GUY, YET HES ONLY APPEARED LIKE THREE TIMES, VERY BRIEFLY. (Ch 20 knowledge at least)

I did, I came back a couple hours later hoping it was just a foul mood and wasn’t as bad as I thought it was; but I was wrong. Instead of the story actually progressing to an acceptable degree in the next ten chapters, all that changed was that the heroine is now trying to “test” him, as in trying to kill him, and see if he fails the alchemy test - which I think is stupid, if she’s actually an adult as she very obviously points out when she calls the other characters “kids”, then shouldnt she be mature enough to know how to communicate? And I know it would be crazy to just be like “hey, so are you actually from my world and read the same book as me?
Omg are you kidding me? I wrote like a whole giant thing about why I don’t like it but it got cut. That was basically just a quarter I’m so sad
Anyway the gist is there are countless discrepancies in the story, characters, and plot holes; misunderstood princess being a prime example, she didnt care that he was a commoner in the first meeting, then she tried to kill him because she was overestimating his strength, once she lost she seemed like she gained a sense of respect for him, then she bashes him for being a lowly commoner, then she acts all tsundere (ew), then she’s back to hating him? For no reason? Literally nothing significant to the plot of reaching the true ending has occured in the past 31 chapters, a bunch if chapters were wasted on the girls perspective, the only understandable one being the heroine but that of course was poorly written and was basically only characterizing her as being childish and petty even though it was clearly stated she is an adult. A big plot hole would be the skill blink, even though its a huge part of the story it’s very poorly explained, specifically it’s cool down. In the beginning it was explained to have a ridiculous cool down, then it was said to only take 3 seconds, then he can use it continuously? It doesnt make sense. The girls get in the way of the plot’s progression, and is basically turning into the girls story with how many chapters were wasted on their perspective even though they currently hold not even an ounce of majority towards the plot. There are other small things I wrote about, but it would take too long to write the whole thing I wrote again. But anyway, good plot, hate harems.

Yeah... I keep trying to give it a chance... but each chapter is only proving that this is a massive piece of sheet. The only salvageable thing is mc's personality, being the calm and inteligente kind. But honestly? Even that is becoming questionable because his IQ and personality disappears whenever one of the girls are involved. And I'm even questioning the intelligence point because the "3 unsolvable questions" on that test... were fricking puns... like wtf? What is the alchemy then? Match 3 puzzle/minigame?
And yes. They focus too much on those 3 girls... and they are hella annoying. To the point I'd neither play the game nor read the novel. It'd be better if he lived his life and paid less attention to them.
