I don’t think this is a cheating plot like other comments I’ve seen.
Director Kang has always had a hard time expressing his thoughts/worries/feelings when it comes to Mr. Ahn. As we saw in on or off he didn’t want to hold him back in new experiences (Mr Ahn getting an acting gig). So I think he feels guilty about being a possibility of ahn not experiencing things like other people his age.
I think there was foreshadowing of Ahn telling the story of his “ex” at the cafe and being stalked.
He meets new guy at a cafe (you see where this is going) and instead of Mina chasing away the stalker it could be Kang. But of course with a lot of misunderstands and drama but who doesn’t love some drama?!
