I personally loved it with this ending. Like with a lot of thought behind ofc. I have a lot to say about it. (I REALLY wasn’t expecting myself to write this much but oh well may as well share to whoever wants to read)

At first we should mention the original idea of magical boy, I think that’s not something we see a lot, also keeping the idea smutty with the dildo being the magical wand lol.

It’s a happy ending in all POV for me. Chiwoo got to live the life he always deserved, happy and surrounded by love and the people he loves. Without all the SA, traumatic rape scene and suffering he got from Hwan, the loss, despair he felt with loosing his parents.

Hwan suffered from loosing Chiwoo, understood how toxic he was (loving Chiwoo so much but taking everything from him, Jin, friends, “freedom”) not accepting the confession bc he didn’t want to loose him AND wanting to become a better man for Chiwoo. Bc he wasn’t deserving of him yet, and gave himself a chance to change for the love of his life. He gave their relationship another chance but not without changes and that’s beautiful to me. The fact that Hwan got his redemption by suffering, changing and turning into a green flag actually.

Jin got reincarnated, happy ending for this innocent man in this whole story. He was genuinely trying not to do anything bad. (Also he is just so pretty and handsome)

I thought for a second a Sunny became a dog in his reincarnation bc they were such good friend lol

Now, I also think that’s not really fair Hwan got to keep the memory but not Chiwoo, it’s like not knowing what an asshole Hwan was and he get to get away with it by playing nice guy now.

This story line that is quite developed but also not enough? We know about Sunny and Moony being “rival” and have endless contractor to end the other but we don’t know why. That would have been interesting for the story to have more depth. At the end we don’t even know exactly why and how Sunny was released so quickly from being sealed? And why did Chiwoo died? How was he lacking and was it what he wanted? Not sure.

I almost forgot how disgusted I was by how the author portrayed the smut scenes with the monsters, how traumatic is it, I really almost stopped reading it bc it was just author using Chiwoo as an object to draw smut with all kind of context and not a care for the plot, like no trauma given he never had sex? What about his virginity taken? That’s the only part the ending couldn’t cover for me

So here I’m rambling a bit more about stuff :

I think this story got people divided in opinion. I think this was very well written if we talk about emotion of characters especially in the later part/ending. Chiwoo felt like he was destroying Hwan and distanced himself for both of their mental health, and while we may feel this urge of wanting a happy ending no matter what, if we had this in reality, what he did was very healthy.

He knew he couldn’t do anything to “straighten” their relationship, not while Hwan was acting this obsessed and desperate with Chiwoo. Maybe I see too much depth in Chiwoo’s action toward Hwan but, usually in Yaoi we would have or even expect them to put up with it and that’s a happy ending, even if their behavior is toxic, to love them and reassure them no matter what, bc that’s how we usually expect them to show they truly love them. But I think it wasn’t really expected for Chiwoo to distance himself for good. Not bc he didn’t liked Hwan but it’s like a mature mindset he have. Knowing it’s not the best for Hwan, and not allowing toxic behavior in each side somehow. He wanted the best for Hwan platonically and generally, he cared for him.

It wasn’t always a good story in the beginning, kinda mid taking in account the SA and unwanted rape scene, we never even got explanation if Hwan knew who he was attacking, why it was necessary and what would happen if the contractor lost it to the monster. And the cafe moment where he was sent unconscious, he didn’t keep memory? Wasn’t he aware ? In the end some part that I consider cringe was necessary for the ending to fold this good to me.
