This chapter 72... Come on... We all understand that the plot wants Jo, but at least, put depth into it, try to give a better insight in Jo's character!... Because that was nonsense...
For me, Jo lacks depth (previous mistakes or odd things about him and his past that lets us understand his unhealthy obsession) But he is seemingly just a grounded man hence 'boring' and that's good, but that is the error here, it makes the last behaviour quite out of character. I understand why he did all that.. His obsession is quite dorky and I guess that's his justification as if showing he is just in love with the wrong person. But... seriously, I would like to root for him and someone else rather than with Ian at this point. I don't know, I really wanna feel connected to Jo, but man... I find him too neutral and suddenly too reckless out of blue, it still is difficult to sympathise with him.
Also, I don't see the chemistry between Jo and Ian no matter how hot they do it, it's like... It doesn't have the same effect (it must be psychological...)
About Ian, he is pretty much lost, confused and wrecked and he seemed to have improved, but once again, he is in a loop of his own poor decisions even if he has will to get better and move on from the gangsta lifestyle...
And we saw he had enough character backstory to help us (readers), to understand his reckless past, present and future mistakes. And that's greate, because it is easier to understand his rollercoaster attitude.
And the only one that seems to go forward (for now) is TJ; who is wrecked but at least had a very well defined depth and he is also actively trying to end it with Ian, wich is a major improvement itself...
But well, how long will it last this way? It's obvious he will have gang problems as he wants to be the next boss but he will have a rival (I think... Tho' I might be wrong)
And also, We all know he will come back, and I can already sense his comeback might worsen his character development (maybe... But, please, no!)
Will the author bring him back searching for Ian? (I hope not, I want another bottom for TJ now!)
Let's see what will happen... I guess more drama and messy turns to come, right? ╥﹏╥
