Further down the story. She eventually reveals she’s the owner of the curse sword and was condemned by the people except of course for the people who knew her. In doing so, she said fuck it and slashed at the second prince and poke his eye out then she fled. After which there was civil war, in the imperial family which led to emperor and the second prince fleeing for a invincible fortress. By this time the civil war would have come to an impasse due to the fortress being impenetrable. She eventually comes to a decision that in order to test her limits she needed to let Val take full control. By doing so, she was so pissed off and annoyed at the emperor that she killed him succumbing to the bloodlust.

This was actually intense. She was enjoying the killing so much.
