I find making theories for this story is hard, since the author has more references to horror movies than games. Because of that hard to tell much how much to take the game mechanics seriously. I feel like each chapter add new and interesting mysteries, but more confusing on the game side. Even tho I like the theories on bada being corrupt npc and doha the player. We now know that only one character can get an ending but so far bada is the one triggering them. Usually in games the mc is player character, game reset when the mc or important characters dies. We know the game doesn't reset when doha dies. My biggest question is does the game reset when bada dies. Alternatively, the game could switch povs when the current characters dies, because bada doesn't usually dies first, and is the only pov we know. We'll probably won't know unless doha let's that slip. Other the other character get more "weridly" proactive as we seen before. I'm surprised bada hasn't doha why he killed the villager that one time.
The story at first gave me a little raging loop vibes. What horrors game this webtoon reminds y'all of?
He definitely hasnt explored the possibility that he simply doesnt have a life outside of the game. When a game ends, no matter the ending, you alway restart. Take elden ring for example. You can save by check points but lore/story wise once you reach the final objective you always go back. No matter how many side quests you complete and how many alternative ending you get, you still wake up at the beginning of the game.
The question is if Bada is the MC and if he is when he reaches the end like in elden ring will he keep his level(memories, achievements) or is it like most games where he risks being completely reset, mind progress and all. I have to agree that its extremely weird Doha suddenly gained sentience but by all logic he has become a player via saving his own progress so it may simple be a case by case scenario.
Let me correct u a bit: both of them can trigger endings. But it seems like each player can only unlock 1 new ending each round (so max the two of them can unlock 2 new endings per round), which is why doha only unlocked one ending last round. Also the game doesn’t reset until both of them died. We’ve seen doha die first and we’ve also seen bada die first and the game doesn’t immediately reset until all “players” died.
I just don't get bada, you claim that you are willing to whatever to get out. But get mad defensive of doha makes no sense. When bada been very suspicious of him previously. I hope when this ends we get proper answers. Another thing that is bothering me is the villagers. We still don't know why doha killed that one guy or why the villagers are so aggro. *For example a little spoiler for raging loop for those care*
In the loop is caused by a ritual done by specific villagers, and the loop wouldn't end until a certain condition is met(I forget the specifics). I wonder if the villagers have insight that they don't have.
