Ml means male lead while mc means main character Rose
Thank you! But what’s the difference?!! Hahaha like how do you know who’s the main lead and who’s the main character? It seems like everybody commenting under a certain manga has a collective understanding of who is who and I can’t figure it out lol
It's funny how people are also using it in yaoi I m still stuck in seme and uke , it confuses me when people use MC and ml in yaoi as well RARE°INSIGHTS•やおい◼
Lmao riiiight? Im so used to seme and uke got so confused when everybody suddenly started using ml and mc

Thank God I m not the only one who thought that I mean this mc and ml phrase only use in straight stories , since when people start usin it ind yaoi it's seriously doesn't make sense to me and confusing to use in an story both are men.
Ml- male lead : one side of a coin.... In straight goes to male counterpart and in bl generally used for seme (it's kinda confusing) Mc-main character: they're the one around whom the story revolves... They can be any ml, fl, SE me, uke.... Or u can say they r ones for whom the cloud bubbles used the most...... Hope it helps.... ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

as a person who uses mc/ml a lot, it's to call the character's with much more neutral terms cuz (specifically) the term uke kinda feels like objectifying the character to me iykwim? i mean i also use uke/seme too.. but i think I've read too much yaois in the past and I realize some of the reader's/author's don't really respect the uke cuz they're supposed to be a girl with a dick or just feminine in general. this is just from my persective.
mcs in action bromance manhwa are depicted as bottom so that's why i think i pick it up faster lol
