I’ll be honest, this story has almost no plot. It also has almost no character development. But it has more plot and a about the same character development as your typical harem fantasy manga. If you go in expecting the reverse version of an ecchi harem manga, you’ll be satisfied. Don’t expect too much and just enjoy hot guys and pleasant art, if that’s your thing. If not steer very very clear.

I will stick through this story to the end for one reason and one reason, to write a fair review. The female lead starts off a little naive and flighty, but seems to be learning quickly. The male lead is super toxic, controlling, authoritarian, unemotive, and unable to see how much he is hurting her. I actually think his behavior qualifies as psychologically abusive. She’s trapped and can’t do anything about it because her citizens will die otherwise, it’s a hostage situation. But she keeps trying to see the best in him. So I’m gonna keep reading to see if he has any character development. You get the vibe he actually isn’t malicious, but just clueless. Like a toddler throwing a tantrum when he wants his way he just hurts others emotionally and mentally when he wants something. I hope that’s the case and he grows. If not, when it’s done I’ll leave a review and warn all of you who have no interest in seeing a toxic relationship glorified.

This is surprisingly good, I love the novel so I was impressed with the representation. It’s not really exactly how I imagined riftan, but when is it ever? And maxi’s hair is way too pretty in the manga from how it was described ;) but she deserves it. I love how they captured their relationship though. Don’t worry, their character development is fantastic, it’s worth sticking it out!
