To me it's just show Souta deep rooted trauma from relationship. It added more drama and reasoning as to why he didn't even consider to talk it out or even scared, because it not happen just once but two time. Souta way of love is to give it all, all of his relationship is a serious one, so the betrayal doesn't come easy to him. The directing could be better tho to add more impact but the story is good imo, tho i think if Kento side of story about his past get revealed and how they come over that as a couple get told it would be a much better story cause i think Kento has some trauma too, with his distrust that Souta won't love him forever. It's a good story overall, i'll support the author ^^
i think lysbet is not good person either, cause ain't no way you don't know how lister torture Sylhan, and the hypocrisy about how she doesn't like how Sylhan acted like a servant yet treated him like one is baffling me, you could at least let my bby sleep in a better room, a room where the sand seep in during the night. I still hate lister the most but dang lysbet is so sus

I don't really want romance either but how much care towards a child should an adult who isn't responsible for their care and barely knows the family should be? I think it would be kind of creepy if she cared too much or downright wrong if she tried to be mama bear and insert herself. These are the exact things that immediately turn off step children to their new step parents. And as someone who had to be warned what to look for from "creepy uncles" (thank god not my real uncles,) adults who are overly friendly or kind may not have the best intentions.
Over time, she could learn to care more and it would naturally fit. In theory, it will boil down to who MC called to depend on if he becomes too sick to care for his brother. If he can't reach his friend, then he will have to widen his options.
Ofc i completely agree, it's creepy if the girl just take a position as mama bear as soon as they meet. I'm talking in a brother's gf care way, slight interest and compassion is enough really. From what i see she doesn't really show any of that except the moment she met siha and saying that he is cute, and i just don't like her vibe in general in some of the chapter, maybe it is too early to judge since this manhwa only have like 20 chapter, but i prefer to have the purple hair girl to be the fl if this manhwa ever goes to romantic route
