when i first saw this story it had a 9.6 rating (and now it's 9.4) and i got to ch 6 and uhm yall would say anything is peak if it has a relatively unique setting, even if the execution is mid...
- mc never got punished for touching the researchers' hands for years, but apparently, bullying is quite normalized and ignored. he understands the concept/definition of bullying, but doesnt know what a fever is?
- this story operates on the assumption that everybody is a pos and a dumbass, yk except mc and ml and their allies. like not once was he caught "secretly" guiding or helping people and not once did anyone figure out the correlation between him and the survival rates of the tests he attends. it's beyond dumb how no one is paying attention to him, and attributes it entirely to "luck".
- why on earth does he want to save these assholes? he's friendless and doesnt have any decent relationships with them whatsoever. if dude's naturally self-sacrificing? why?
-mc's been reading memories for years, but none of these people have any memory of the process of leaving the underground? not even the new recruit that was from above ground? like even if these people's memories were wiped or they were blindfolded, the story should've mentioned that
- it also has those common manhua tropes of dumb aggravating side character dialogues that serve no purpose but to fill the void and demonstrate how cartoonishly dumb and awful they are, which props up the mc and ml, and ml becoming weirdly possessive over mc in their first meeting.
