I wrote a whole dissertation about how I think no one was really at fault and while I’m still looking at this with an innocent-until-guilty outlook, I’m also squinting my eyes at Dojin bc he better fucking have a good ass explanation why he was in contact with the woman who abandoned Hyesung and only came back bc he married rich.
Byul better smack Siwoo or laugh in his face because dear god that’s NOT how you approach someone mid-breakdown my guy.
Don’t get me wrong Hyesung has every right to feel what he feels. He’s allowed to outright refuse to forgive his mom and he’s allowed to feel betrayed by his husband and son he’s incredibly valid!!!
But I don’t think Byul needs to follow his mom’s lead in hating his maternal grandma. Yes he knows his grandma wronged Hyesung but he also believes she’s changed. Whether she actually has or not is something Byul needs to learn for himself but as of right now, he’s just a kid visiting his grandma and thats not a crime.
As for Dojin, we all know what he did to Hyesung but let’s put that aside because they’ve gone through their own whole relationship journey in the first work. I don’t think him keeping in touch with Hyesung’s mom is a sin either. Dojin keeping it a secret from Hyesung may not have been the best idea but come on guys he’s human and wanted to keep his husband happy. Hyesung’s mom maybe wanted to know how Hyesung was doing, but of course she’d know that Hyesung turned his back to her completely. So it’s Dojin that’s been keeping her at ease about Hyesung. Is that so wrong?
Also I see some people saying Byul and Dojin are gonna *force* Hyesung to forgive his mom. I don’t think they’re going to? They know how Hyesung feels about his mom it seems dumb that they’d turn around and say “hey you should forgive her for leaving you with your abusive father” so I’m gonna be adamant and hope that that’s not gonna be the case. If Hyesung DOES forgive her I hope Fargo makes it so that it would be of his own choice and if Hyesung REFUSES to forgive her then that’s fine too!!! But y'all shouldn’t bear claws to Dojin and Byul for something they haven’t done.
In the end, they’re a family and families are complicated. Each one of them is valid, but despite that, one’s actions will hurt the other maybe without knowing.
