I put this manga on hold because it was so good! But the updates made me so impatient (that's just me being greedy). Glad i came back to it! Zec always had me hostaged since Lover Boy. When i see their name, i instantly trust! Love Moscareto too! I read some of their collabs with the other artists. It's all been pretty cute! Good combo!
Now I'm gonna go and pray for my own supadari to appear huhuhu
I read 80.5 and I personally don't find Vichid to be the nearest thing we had to a villain! I feel super hooked to the two couples stories so this may sound biased but I think the closest we had were the twins and Jania. It was all interesting.. Rorge was pretty ok for the role too but too bad he was too easy to end (≧∀≦)
God, even in a story set in somewhat Spain with rebirth/reincarnation in the mix, authors STILL make miscommunication/people not talking about things out properly THE MAIN PROBLEM OF THE STORY.
Wanted to drop this so many times but ended up finishing anyway cuz i thought they'd end up together...
Anyway there's a yaoi on this -- like what if the dudes got together too. Just skimming thru it at nh3nta1 made me feel better.
Lemme tell you I read this when it was first scanlated but had to put it down because the update wait WAS KILLING ME. I'M SO GLAD I READ IT ALL AT LAST. LONG LIVE KING CHRIS. LONG LIVE EVERYONE!!
I was thinking why it was Lune in the end then when I tried to recap it, it all made sense.
I think it's because Lune better understands life as a performer and as a part of a circus compared to Michel (Coco's brother).
I think Michel (the artist) just wanted to get back to the circus but because Michel (Coco's brother) "broke up" with him, it gave Michel a chance to pursue the relationship with Lune - who better understands him and i think eventually supports him now that he's gonna take on the role as ringmaster.
I love this story! I like how it's both dramatic and level headed with how the characters traumas are. Maybe because i read it on the 3rd time in one sitting but I'm not feeling the time jump then flashback style per volume since it feels disruptive to the flow but I still like the essence of the story and the minor details in it.
The ending felt a little too short in my opinion too. I feel like we could've split the whole paul and j clearing out the air with their feelings and j finally meeting jean and rita (his daughter) in separate chapters (about 2-3 more chapter then extras i feel) but well, that's that.
Good for diving into complex characters, kinda ok for exploring homosexuality and transsexuality (but then again, this was mainly set in the 50s - 60s), not so good with the short ending
But definitely worth rereading again
I reread it. I want to stand by my previous topic here of like Haru having a bit more chemistry with the other cuties in this story, but i saw there were clues he liked Hiro more than the other cuties. I also felt weirded out by how the author resolved things.. like seriously?
You quit studying because you were just going out of boredom? Is it a cultural thing? Then you suddenly move up north with your boyfriend and let him keep contact with his previous clients? It feels both super random and like a super weird way for the author to "naturally" show how the other cuties are doing? There's not really a clear passage of time (or maybe i missed it) on how long they dated before they up and left for the north.
Overall still not really feeling this story. It's sexy and all but when there's too many cuties and this isn't even marketed as a harem comedy BL, it just doesnt sit well with me.
I think it's very well written. I'm here to defend it. I came from another story by the artist wherein it's kinda like this but toned down (Expired First Love). It's another story about a selfish man.
I'm happy with the ending. It's satisfying too! I agree that the seme was really selfish and abusive as hell in the time they were together. I think the ending was a just desserts for him! When seme realized he really did love uke in the end, the uke didn't cave in the end! I think it's the best karma yet! The uke loved the trashy seme. Uke was able to go thru serious lengths for him (even at the risk of his well-being, pride and money). And he can say he did everything without regret because he loved him wholeheartedly. And it was a nice thing he found a good woman to marry, help him with the inn and his mother, and have a cute kid with!
It's even better that the seme didn't get him in the end! So satisfying!
Anyone who read this story would've probably catched on it wasn't going to be a happy ending -- or IDK maybe just me. i was reading chapter 4 and i felt like we weren't going to be getting a happy ending. I felt we weren't going to get a "hand of god" moment wherein in the last two chapters they fall in love or something!
But even if it wasn't happy, i feel satisfied. It's really well written! I feel like the author and the artist made sure to make it clear: they didn't want us to expect that much out of Murakami. The ending felt just right; that Murakami is still scummy and Uno is still in this anxious limbo of whether Murakami will love him eventually or leave him when he really gets back to who he was before becoming a hobo.
The written side story was literally an extra for me. Like it just further drives home the point that Murakami is just there because he doesn't want to feel abandoned again. He doesn't love Uno in a romantic sense but he feels unstable at the thought of being left behind.
Honestly, this has been screaming red flag to me even up till now but I'm just here waiting for that Happy Ending the author promised...
I know the author will be gaslighting us into "See guys! He changed. He has feelings now and is "super nice" to Yeon Oh now" all while seeing he really didn't change. Just wanted to see how they'll ramp this up.
IDK if I'm the First to say this BUT I have a feeling the baby's name is gonna be "Sunny" or the Korean sounding equivalent :>
Big baby Haebom will definitely think this!
Protect all of them!
This is cute and all but it feels a little too flat for me...
Not that I'm dropping reading this, since i read till chapter 77 just to see if it'll get a bit more of a kick...
But i feel like compared to the other stories out there, while it's cute and all, it feels boring, reads like teen angst and feels stupid at times ( ̄へ ̄)
Like... Karlyle's eternal internal monologue not only reads something like the fanfics i read as a teen but it also never endsssssss(/TДT)/
And their conflict before becoming couple... IDK man. I get that the conflict was their feelings weren't at each other's level but the way everything was set up from the beginning, I honestly feels like it didn't sit well with me. It felt like a last minute idea or a poorly built up conflict. Like... With the way Ash has been acting before the confession, I was more surprised and confused how HE'S the one whose feelings needed catching up to do... AND HE DOESN'T SEEM ANY DIFFERENT AFTER GETTING TO TOGETHER FOR REAL NOW
IDK. Plus the sex scenes too. Like the flirting and kissing = Hot but then the sex feels like meh. I think it's the angles the artist chose. It didn't feel like their bodies were connected. All i keep seeing was zoom ins of their faces and weird angles. Not so much of a connection down there.
Overall...
Would i read it again? No.
Would i finish reading it? Yeah sure but wouldn't really be running to read it.
Would i read the scanlation of Kyle and Nick's story if i saw it? Maybe. And I'd def recommend reading it first than this because this def screams sequel even tho there's nothing before it.
