BeMyLover created a topic of A Tree Without Roots

At first I wasn't really into the relationship between Hee Soo and Taekyung. It felt unwarranted for a while because I truly didn't understand Hee Soo as a person yet. But once I reread chapters and realized I liked the fact we met adolescent him, older teen, young adult, and now adult him in season 2. We got to see the real life digression of his psyche. I loved the ending monologue that a child left with no one is a longing one. People over look how much neglect and abandonment can be a on child. Hee Soo lost his mother in a traumatic event that would have took his life as well while he was only roughly 4 to 6 years old. Then he's left in the useless hands of verbal and mentally neglecting people that used him for a cash grab. Then he clings to the first adult that ever actually "cared" about him.
Not realizing Taekyung himself was just trying to wash away his guilt and sins of consciously knowing his mother was to blame the entire time. Which is a twist I love because it makes even more sense why he was invested in this case. He wanted something/anything to prove his mother wasn't the culprit, but instead he got the answer he didn't want. His mother is an unapologetic murderer and he chose to avoid that door and decided to shut Hee Soo's instead. Which in my eyes makes him a coward (an understanding one cause I get it...it's his mother or this boy, most people will always pick their family) but that doesn't change the fact he finally broke Hee Soo.
Yes Hee Soo is damaged and needs mental help, but it's the first time I see past the "fake" suicide attempts as just a desperate child wanting to be loved. But Mr. Cha but way more then he could chew and just tried to spit out Hee Soo which is sad. He should have never allowed himself to be caught up with this child if he didn't know how to handle him.
As for Hee Soo it's a shame how damaged and lost he is. I'm not here to be 100% understanding because trauma should never acquaint to violence and assault, but I can't say I didn't see this coming. The moment he stabbed Taekyung I believe he not only killed a version of Mr. Cha loved but he killed that last hope he had for himself to be human. His starvation for love was pushed too far this time that sadly I don't see him coming back from this. Like Mr. Cha's mother said "can one truly be saved from abyss just cause of love". Hee Soo doesn't know love, his love is suffocating and lonely while Mr. Cha's is Guild ridden and scared.
This next season gonna be real toxic probably so I better prepare myself. ┗( T﹏T )┛
