You have an extremely biased opinion and you don't even realize it.
The fact that the grandmother abandoned Hye-Sung is judged excessively, but the fact that Sung abandoned Byul is not.
You can empathize with Sung because you read about how miserable her life was, but you judge her mother without knowing her circumstances. We know that both were victims of psychological abuse, but what must have been the limits of this abuse for her? Was it only psychological or did it reach the physical and sexual realm as well? Some people kill themselves because of abuse, some run away, some crumble. We can see this in victims of bullying. And what happens when bullying becomes blatant and unrestricted abuse, a constant companion within your own home?
I also don't like the grandmother, but at least I can be rational and weigh my personal opinion against my impression of something or someone and judge the situation with the best mental state instead of spewing hatred for a fictional character, but one who represents a significant portion of people. Contain your intolerance and misogyny.

It's true that Byul's grandmother could have handled it differently, she could have taken her son with her, she could have done a thousand and one things differently and better, but we don't always make the best decision, do the right thing at the right time. We all carry regrets. It's important to acknowledge mistakes and try to redeem ourselves.

I hope you can reflect a little more before commenting on these kinds of things.

At the beginning of the narrative, or at some point, everyone hated Byul's father, but the key to opinion spins too quickly and you forget things too easily because it's easier and more convenient.
Some of you let yourselves be manipulated too easily and contribute to equally toxic and destructive narratives in this cycle of hatred and destruction of others.

Be better than that.
