I think Yerim (spoiler, can stop living things as long as they have eyes) told Sojin (gf, human, muy thai) that she had a role only her could play because she knows she is the one that the religious fanatics want. And i think Yerim have been very far in the future and she might know that Sojin is compatible with the emperor's spore, and there might be something only the infected-Sojin can do...

But i also might be hypothesing things a bit too much loool idk but i do feel like it's a big possibility.
