It seems I'm the only one who found the ending ridiculous.

Honestly, the ending was just absurd! The idea of pheromones or whatever else—why would anyone choose their rapist or abuser? I would definitely opt for the doctor over anyone. I want someone who truly loves me, not someone I happen to love who turns out to be a rapist and an abuser.
It's important to forgive those who have hurt you, but never forget what they've done. Keep your distance and focus on healing yourself.
