Background
- the dad had 2 wives, Kiera's mum was the 2nd
- the 1st wife was harassed by the 2nd wife, husband knew but didn't do shit
- 1st wife got pregnant and 2nd wife and fam planned her assassination
- 1st wife died as a result, and cosette was stillborn but 1st wife managed to make a contract with a demon who then lived as cosette

First timeline
- dad knew Kiera was his real daughter, but because cosette exhibited the ability to call the spirits (or wtv it was called i cant rmb)
- so dad voted in favour of kiera's execution, because cosette had powers and he had no use for kiera
- after keira dies, the spirits go on rampage and the demon (cosette imposter) reveals its true nature.. some fantasy element and basically turns the human world upside down
- the dad turns back time

Second timeline (current)
- demon(cosette)'s plan doesn't succeed
- demon gets banished or something.. for violating some rules btn the demon and human world (?)
- think kiera holds a funeral for the real cosette (who was stillborn and actually died but the demon used cosette's body)

Ending
- spoilers say that kiera eventually forgave her dad, in the last scene of the novel she returns home and says smth like this is her home and she wont leave etc etc
- ML not clear, some say it's either the blonde or black haired guard
- apparently novel didn't get super good reviews because readers were disappointed that kiera forgave her dad despite the build-up and expectation of her and zeke ditching him and living by themselves

Honestly the dad is one of the main/crucial causes of this entire shit show... So many things he knew but decided not to take action to remain 'neutral' and didn't give a shit about kiera and instead framed her as a fake to easily kill her off, since he had cosette's powers. Really hate characters who, when the MC is really sweet and loving and craves affection, doesn't give a shit about MC vs starts getting concerned and confused when MC decides to stop giving a fk and live their own lives. What is this man on seriously

i was just about to try to understand the father but i guess no need anynore.
Keira is good to forgave him (prob because he gave her second chance - tho might be for his own sake)
