I feel like it's the whole point of it, to make you question yourself, and to even let it pass bc we know the two "siblings" aren't actually related. Truly seeing Giovinetta finally happy and at peace is what we want, but I've also asked myself. Would Anette be happy with her demon brother...? Or does she think she would be because he's the only guy who hasn't treated her like shit

Okay I just realized this while I was at work. Doesn't The devil treat Yuha like shit? We have been getting a lot of chapters in the devils pov and we have seen the world that the devil wants and that world does not have Yuha. Like, Yuha has put up with so much shit for the devil, and yeah, Yuha is acting creepy about the devil now but maybe that is bc the devil has treated him like shit and let people humiliate Yuha.

I honestly realized that no one in this story really thinks about anyone other than themselves and are constantly using others to gain their happiness, I think yuha will become the new judan and judan prolly won't die (that stubborn bastard), and the devil is odviously only trying to be with yuha when hes lonely or wants to go to the volcano (which yuha wont do) but the devil really loves judan. and this shows alot cause honestly the devil could go to the volcano himself he just wants doesnt want to go cause he either doesnt want to be alone or he love judan more than the volcano.

and even tho I hate jiyul I feel like his true problem is obsession and he keeps on obsessing over the things that are bad for him which turn him into a little bitch that snitches on everyone. I think the only character that doesn't annoy me is mugi but now he's dead so it kills me to read this every time, just hoping the story will change for the good and will no longer be toxic.

God, the reading comprehension and logical reasoning skills of the fujos is appalling. That Yuha guy is the most unsympathetic, creepy bastard in the whole story. He is a fucking villain but not the charming kind. The charming villain knows he is one and doesn't make any excuses. This is a villain who is deluded into thinking he is the good guy because he is the plot's nepo baby. Dude isn't even worthy of standing in the shadow of Judan. That dude is a hero, a genuinely good guy, with a deep sense of social responsibility who gave every bit of himself to do good but ended up going down a tragic path as a result of political and strategic tussle with dishonest, greedy, smarmy snakes of the Han & sons co. who were scheming to protect the status quo and their privilege all this time. Yuha on the other hand is just a self-gratifying, self-aggrandizing hedonist who loves to shirk all sense of responsibility and all opportunities at self-awareness and maturity by drowning himself in a sea of undeserving victimhood. He has zero sense of responsibility and dignity or even the temperament of a statesman, who only gets to where he does because he is a puppet for the aforementioned smarmy politicians. Unlike Judan who led a revolt for a just cause, to defend and elevate his exploited, abused country and people by overthrowing its oppressors, Yuha is motivated only by his petty worthless revenge (which was just desserts in the first place) and his resentment towards Judan as a love rival. Bro would be a fodder arc villain in a proper story. If the author genuinely thinks that he is a reflection of Judan as opposed to just writing another case of unreliable narration, he/she doesn't understand their own story. Yuha ain't the second coming of Judan as the story would like to tell you. He is the Devil 2.0.

Now, this being a psychological and main character pov, it is almost guaranteed that whatever you think that the author wants you to think isn't the actual value judgement that they want you to make. There are more than enough clues that they want you to feel the helplessness inherent in a political system and social philosophy that is this conservative, this religious and has this rigid of a power distribution. They are switching between humanizing these characters and then depicting aspects of their insanity so as to impact you with fear and discomfort born from the disturbed mentality of these characters, especially the Devil, the six kings and the system that sustains it and of Yuha. They're the same writer as Sura's lover and there too they had written the story from the perspective of objectively despicable, unsympathetic characters. And any objective rational reader would be able to make out that we are supposed to feel creeped out and disgusted at the main characters and not feel for them. The author had written an outright, indubitable monster but did the same things she is doing here. Humanize him, before revealing the demon. That way the butt clenching discomfort and dread would hit closer to home. Unfortunately, "show, don't tell" always misses the mark with this audience because they're used to relying on the main character perspective instead of in story facts when forming opinions and analysing the story and characters.

Lol I wasn't expecting such a long reply to my 4 year old comment. Just a heads up I think all the info your referencing with Judan wasn't known back then. Though it is hard to remember because I stopped reading soon after this comment. All the characters were too scummy for me. From what I remember all we knew about Judan back then is that he was neglecting the devil, refused to go to the volcano with him, and his family did fucked up shit to the devil.

It's crazy though if the story ended up like that, makes me glad I stopped reading it. I read all of Sura's Lover and that stories ending was such a let down.
