It's honestly hard to find a good movie "from the trenches" xD i have watched a tonne of indie made movies and most I couldn't even sit through to the end. These recommendations of mine (off the top of my head) are underrated, but i wouldn't really call all of them indie or from the trenches, as they clearly had some sort of a decent budget. 1.......   reply
