Female identifying characters really cannot win
They conquer every issue, then they're a 'Mary Sue' character and highly unrelatable.
They need support and time to grow, then they're helpless and *always* needing to be saved.

Mary Sue where?? All I'm seeing is a malnourished young girl with a young woman's mind struggling to stay alive with whatever knowledge she had clumsily but determinedly.
Crazy. She's clearly a girl who's barely an adult that's been abused for so long with her body's full of evidence of the abused. Sure, she might have gone back in time so her mind's already older than that, but right now she's a helpless 18 yrs old child. With no one to depend on and little to no power. She's using her wits and determination to exact her revenge and survive, it's clearly not her fault the ML's smitten with her after denying him multiple times. She's def not helpless, idkwym ╮(￣▽￣)╭

The thing is she isn't that helpless at all. Just physically weak because of all the abuse and malnourishment. I think she'll do fine. Not being too weak or too strong.
Exactly! She was able to stand her ground against those demons inside the house, withstand the abuse that began when she was still a toddler, and was able to live without eating for several days. She's got what it takes, albeit not physically.
When we have an established ML always try to give them the benefit of the doubt, because we can cry & scream but that ML is set in stone( T﹏T )
But this ML?! This ML is the dumbest one I've encountered in a hot minute. Usually, they're being all nice to the other person to sus them out and gather evidence.
But this dude really, really believes this person. And then has the audacity to claim to love the FL??

At this point it almost feels abusive? I don't use that word lightly. But the constant pushing her, punishing her, condemning her, believing LITERALLY ANYBODY ELSE??!
