Um folks why are we calling the FL dumb??
Her whole previous life she held Diana on a pedestal.
And though she no longer looks at Diana through a lense of inferiority or jealousy, she still thinks Diana is perfect.
Why? Because everyone and everything around her suggests she is. ╮(￣▽￣)╭
Also, no one else around her seems to be acting 'off' as yet. Nor is anyone seeming to behave in an uncharacteristic manner.
So why would she be thrown off by a few vague words??
