Apparently it's the idea of being loved unconditionally far beyond and that's why possessive lovers is quite popular between consumers and media. Most times I like it, but if it gets to a point where the love interest is violent or tippy-toeing around yandere themes then it's a complete turn off for me- but it is a troupe I do tend to have a guilty......
