I probably started around your age, and I'm 22 now. It never really impacted me negatively in any way. At least in no way that I've noticed. That said, if I'm being real, it's probably not the most appropriate genre for a kid. If you think it's an issue or feel uncomfortable about it, maybe just stick to shounen-ai manga.
