Yeah Kim Dan had a rough past but through it he always had his grandma look at the ppl jaekyung was surrounded by growing up, and you expect him not to become an aggressive dick? Not excusing his abuse but bfr you can’t compare the two

i hate Jaekyung i said this earlier but now thinking about it ,dan wasn't raised in an abusive household, and then ditched by his mother whom he set his life goal to protect her ,he had his kind grandmother growing up.

Dan wasn’t in an abusive household but he still lived CONSTANTLY ABUSED by loansharks

im talking about Jaekyung and how his upbringing is different then Dan's and the reason behind his fucked up personality, being harassed by loan sharks isn't the same as being abused by ur own father since the day uv opened ur eyes to this world and then abandoned by ur mother u worked so hard to please and protect... he's still trash and ill never forgive him for wha he did to dan ,but still they're two entirely different cases

honestly, save it. lets talk real. kim dan has ZERO room to move the same way jaekyung is. (i am not defending jjk so keep reading please)

jaekyung: druggie dan, not fed, had to steal milk, mom left and abandoned him even after his father passed away, got into a arguement with his dad before finding his fathers dead body right after his 1st win, mom states she wants no buisness with him even if his father is dead, fell into the same life he swore he wouldnt fall into.

kim dan: mom and dad (dead or alive?) nowhere to be found, had his grandma for all his life, bullied at school. pursued college and got his doctorates, grandma is on deathbead in hospice care, chased by loan sharks all his life, taken advantage of by his old boss, broke as fuck.

im saying all this to say, if i was kim dan, no. i wouldnt move like jaekyung because i have no space on earth to do so when my life hasnt been going well for me and im already in my 30's. jaekyung is rich and most likely thinks he can get away with anything while dan does not and understands that actions have consequences and karma waits for no one.

ofc there not going to be the same cases but there is way too many similar themes that you try to dismiss for Dan just because he had his grandmother?? Jaekyung still had the gym instructor with him too and the instructor’s mom who paid extra attention to him too. They both faced abuse, had a lack of parental figures, grew up in poverty, and were reduced to nothing. Dan could have choose to resent his grandmother for not doing enough to protect him as a kid, and Jaekyung could have decided to be a good person from their on. Victims of these cases have many different reactions whether they continue to project the abuse they faced to other people or to advocate for abuse because they faced it. You’re not excusing him for his treatment of Dan, but how he continued to live as an adult was his decision. Dan could have done the same thing but he chose not too

there is way too many similar themes throughout each of their childhoods that you try to dismiss for Dan just because he had his grandmother?? Dan could have chose to resent his grandmother for not doing enough to protect him as a kid. Dan could have also became an “aggressive dick” after everything he worked for to becoming an established person despite his childhood was thrown away after he got sexually assaulted by his superior and GOT the blame aswell. BOTH of their situations were so severe and traumatic that they could have responded in either way, being aggressive or choosing to be kind. But just because Dan had his grandmother does not excuse the fact how he chose to be kind even through what he faced.

Like always the shitty ML is forgivable or understood bc of a shitty childhood even if the other ML also had a shitty childhood (and isn't a psychopath). But you know what it makes sense now bc Dan had his grandma while JJK had "nobody". There is a lot of people in the world who have childhood trauma who aren't crazy like JJK. And yes I know this is all fake but its the fact thats its used as an excuse for the ML to be shitty person. JJK knows how horrible Dan's life has been and instead of helping him out bc he was in a similar situation, he just abuses him. How is that not similar to JJK's dad???

I see what you mean, but I’m not saying they have the personalities they do solely bc of their trauma. (The abuse and harassment Kim Dan faced and the abuse and abandonment jjk faced, etc) That plays a part, but I’m talking about the influences that were in their life during such important developmental years and while they were dealing w these struggles. Jjk had a pos abuser for a father, a mother that abandoned him, drug dealer friends that also probably didnt care about him, and the one person that he did have for support has a temper just as bad as him and doesn’t show affection in the typical caring manner. He got basically no empathy or emotional support growing up while at the very least Kim Dan had a loving grandmother to look up to and lean on. Yes it’s possible Dan could’ve resented her but it’s not likely nor would he have turned out as bad as jjk bc of how good natured and kind she is and how she raised him to be the same. Look at who “raised” Jjk and you’re gonna tell me it’s likely he WOULDN’T be rough around the edges? I think it makes perfect sense that they turned out two completely different ppl
