That ending was genuinely laughable , at this point, it’s so much better to read the novel.
The redemption arc in the novel was unnecessarily really really long. Some of it was nonsense and there was misunderstandings that were just so damn stupid. But, 52% of that redemption arc is needed for the ml character development and their relationship. They could’ve just simplified the redemption arc but not cut off the entirety of it.
