Refreshing to have a FL who’s smart, not easily manipulated and wooed with gifts, and puts cocky men in their place. I love how she puts Evanders in his place. He’s do dishonest and tries to use his money and power to manipulate her into liking him and IT DOESNT EVEN WORK AN INCH AND I LOVE IT. While the duke who’s good for her, but poor boy is naive and loves her to the point that he separates to protect her, she just GOES AFTER HIM AND ISNT OVERLY SENSITIVE TO HIS DISTANT BEHAVIOUR. I’m so refreshed that the typical tropes are not there. Well at least not the annoying dramatic ones.
