i don’t want to sound rude because i know so much effort goes into scanlating even a small portion of manga, but it is so hard to follow the story. we get like two pages every update, some chapters seems to be missing, and overall it’s just a nightmare to follow the story this way. the chapters are being cut into 3 or 4 parts and it’s so unnecessary.
if you can’t translate the whole thing in one go that’s fine, but i’d rather wait longer to have the whole chapter released at once than get these choppy half done pieces that severely messes up the flow, tension, and storytelling.
i’m glad we got the back story, but i really hadn’t expected it to go on so long. i liked seeing them in their past life (even though it’s not the dynamic i was totally hoping for…) but i am so ready to get back to present time. i’ve been ready for like ten chapters lmao
so johnny IS the scammer? when does he admit that and how do we know?? or did i misunderstand and he’s not the scammer?
some of the dialogue is confusing
this is one of the first times i DON’T want the FL to run away. one, because it’s so cliche. almost all of these manhwa (and i know the already have similar plots anyway) always head in the same direction and the FL runs away and the ML has to find her or catch her and there are times skips and so on and so forth. so i would have hoped this would be more original.
but second, because i just feel like she can be stronger than that. not that it’s necessarily weak to uproot yourself from an unfavorable environment or situation, but i’d love to see a FL make the conscious decision to stay and uplift herself using the resources marriage and nobility gives her, to basically run her share of the household/territory/kingdom or whatever they have access to. also, because you KNOW that in these types of stories the ML and FL usually end up together regardless, it would be a much better plot device to show how the ML puts effort into changing and developing, so that he can really grovel and earn forgiveness. usually when FLs run away and they meet the ML again, i feel like the MLs haven’t done as much to earn forgiveness and it’s more the distance between them that makes the FL miss and forgive them.
hope that makes sense, i rambled a lot there.
i’m actually so invested in the plot right now. i did NOT expect her to reach his level of obsessed and crazy. usually in stories with a yandere type, when the girl finds out she freaks out and tries to run away or distance herself. it’s weirdly refreshing to see her flip and become the same way!! power couple
i’m kinda frustrated that nephthys didn’t appear a bit more concerned with anubis’ disappearance and then return as a god. i guess she has a lot on her mind, but she’s never really been a favorite character of mine anyway, she’s kinda just there.
but i think i’m actually kore annoyed that it’s been like 70 chapter and we still don’t know the name of the foreign god i don’t know why that bugs me so much but it DOES!! i just need confirmation of who he is, i don’t actually care all that much about his character otherwise
the author really said “yeah i can’t redeem jaekyung, dan is just gonna have to be delulu” and ran with it
i’m so nervous for when shit hits the fan because they’re so happy right now!! it’s the sweetest honeymoon phase i know what he did was wrong but i forgive him LMFAOO now if only gillies or whatever his name is could die off screen and leave us happily ever after
doesn’t this imply someone tried to send jaekyung an aphrodisiac? the drink was technically meant for him but dan drank it instead. literally why would anyone try to send joo jaekyung a drink laced with an aphrodisiac? if they wanted him to be in bad shape for the match wouldn’t it make more sense to try to give him normal food poisoning?
i don’t know how accurate this is, so if anyone here watched MMA or fighting of some kind can you explain: why would jaekyung have to go through all that work to drop weight for the weigh-in when he can weigh more for the actual fight anyway? they aren’t gonna weigh him the day of the match to make sure he’s in the new weight class??
not gonna lie, when stories have this background where the reigning queen/empress has ill feelings toward the illegitimate child…like i get it. it’s obviously not right to blatantly treat them differently because they weren’t the ones who committed the affair or adultery, but i can understand why they become angry and bitter when the king/emperor is having affairs and children left and right. even if it’s within the norm/culture.
i mean, how many times have we hated a royal character in these stories because they constantly have affairs and cheat on the FL? it’s not an excuse for how the empress acts, but like…girl i get it
now based on spoilers i read below, i may grow to dislike him more, but for now i don’t think he’s the WORST ML i’ve come across (cough cough Sovieshit lmfao). after reading chapter 38 it’s at least obvious he wasn’t really the problem in his last marriage, and he was honorable enough to keep up appearances with Gladys (maybe more for his sake, but it saved her reputation) and pretend her child was his. she left of her own volition and caused problems left and right because she couldn’t handle her guilt. i think he’s a harder to read character that is going through the motions of his life because of his position in the royal family.
for now it’s not enough for me to hate him, but i don’t necessarily like him either. i just kind of acknowledge his character, if that makes sense?
i just don’t find the new guy attractive he just looks like Director Kang but with brown hair and skinnier, so he looks weird to me
